Teaching

Professor Chito Childs teaches courses on families, race and ethnic relations and qualitative research methods. She is actively in recruiting undergraduate students for participation in the NIMH COR program, the McNair Scholar program, and the CUNY Pipeline program. Any students who are interested in the issues that she teaches or researches are invited to contact her about the possibilities of doing an independent study or working as a research assistant.

Independent Study Project

One student wrote a paper on the negative stereotypes of Asian Americans in the media for Professor Child's Current Sociological Theory course. Through her supervision and guidance, the student turned the research paper into an interactive website to further illustrate her arguments.
